    I have one buck I hope I see again this year. I passed him last year as a 95"-100" 2.5 year old. He is in a spot where I think I will be able to see him again this year. I am nearly positive he is alive. For me, a 115-120 inch 3.5 year old buck is a fantastic buck. I have the darndest time finding mature buck beds where I hunt and without finding those beds, locating a target buck is nearly impossible. No trail cams and no glassing do not make it any easier to locate and target a buck.

    I'm not sure why but the same thing happens with me. Is it certain food sources coming into season?

    @Pat....Fine bucks you got there.

    Coming into 2011, I've got about a dozen bucks on the radar. For those deer that I haven't collected the sheds from, I need to photo-verify that they are still alive. If and when I can confirm that they're alive, I'll try to gently dial in on their core areas and see if I can't figure out a way to hunt them.

    I'm sure a few of those fellas will go AWOL, and a few new boys will crop up. Seems like it always plays out that way.

    If the time comes when I need to engage Manifest Destiny Mode, I'll expand my core hunting areas and find new big deer to hunt.

    If there's one thing about hunting season that excites me more than anything, it's the roller-coaster ride of being dialed-in on a buck, then waking up one day and realizing that the game has changed, and he's become un-huntable. Overnight, you go from mentally picturing yourself holding him by the antlers to coping with the abject failure of realizing that you're 100% out of the game. You regroup and move on to another target.

    Haven't ran any serious cameras so far this year, but coming from last year I have 5-6 on the radar. All the cams are going out in late July/Early August until early September.

    2 for sure that I have sheds off of from this past shed season, I have narrowed down one's core area somewhat and the other showed up over the winter (I had tons of food for them) I hope he stuck around though. Trail cams are on mineral now.

    None yet that I have seen from this year. From what I saw last year 3 or 4 target buck. Just got a new hunting spot yesterday that I haven't gotten to start scouting yet. Going over there this weekend. I'm excited to see whats is the woods around there.

    Two of my top targets were killed last year with one of them being mine. Now my camera broke and not sure if any have taken over the property where these two brutes roamed. I hope so and hope I get a camera soon. Still torn up about what camera to get. I want good pics for sure.

    Slacker ?? :hater:

    I have been plotting, preparing to cover all my bases for when the time is right. It is still too early although I am getting anxious. My little scouter ( Britney ) is getting anxious to get out also.

    Mid July is when the scouting get serious. Then we be having fun !!! :tu:

    First discovered his presence at age 2... passed him the afternoon before Halloween at age 3.

    If he's alive.. I'm coming for you "Mack the Knife".

    If he's alive.
