Tall just not wide enough

nice deer in the yard wish he would have grow wider then he has,looks the same as last season I think this is all he is going to be.

 

Hmmm, I'm guessing him at 4 years and 140's. Sometimes there isn't much of a bump in inches from 3-4 but may gain 20+ inches next year. He's a beauty any way you look at him. If he makes you happy is what counts...he's old enough so depends on how he strikes you when you see him in person.

 

Good deer either way.

 

That's a nice buck regardless of his width (in my book) and he looks mature to me.

 

I have seen him many times in the last couple of years, I will pass on him there are bigger deer on my other farms this deer is really in my yard.

Nothing wrong with him 140'S is good for anybody. I have a deer that looks just like that real tall but not real wide but that's one of the ones I want to put on my wall this year.

 

Not overly wide but still a very nice buck. I would have a hard time passing him. It would depend on how much mass he loses with the velvet.

 

If you don't want to waste your tag on him, i will.

When you say he is not wide enough, is that because of some restriction in your area? or just not for your own tastes? Some bucks just never get width, but they get height.

 

Some deer genetically just don't go wide...or tall...or thick depending. I would let him have it for sure though to be honest.

 

He's a good lookin buck, I wouldn't give him a hall pass.
