Sounds like a great trip even coming home without an elk. Colorado is at the top of my wish list to live!
nv, my wife and I have SERIOUSLY discussed starting a 10-year plan to start out that way... My company that I work in medical sales for has begun talking about having me come on board as a corporate sales trainer for them, and as such I'd be more national in scope... That fits perfectly in with the possibility of us moving out there at the end of this decade or so. I keep thinking about instead of just hunting whitetails, being able to chase whitetail, mulies, pronghorn, elk, bear, mountain lions, mountain goats, moose and probably something else I'm not thinking of off the top of my head. It's an AMAZING menu for us bowhunters, no doubt.
I could be. I was offered a good job near the tiny town of Wiggins, Col. back in '06 but after family considerations and long discussions.....didn't. I guess I'll always wonder what might have been.
desert bighorn, rocky mountian bighorn, fish, and a whole boat load of small game. If their expansion continues, we'll be hunting wolves too. There are two other points to make about Colorado: 1) you're in the center of the nation which means it's easier to get to the fringe-either direction, and 2) do-do flows downhill. Can you imagine what the folks in California are drinking? Not a wonder they're known as the "fruits and nuts". Greg, you would be an excellent addition. Bring it!
I know, rybo... :D I started my training today though in earnest for this year's elk trip... doing another two back-to-back rounds of P90X (guess I should call it P180X)... it'll help with both the elevation and the karate tournaments I've got lined up for this summer... but mostly it's for the elk. Here's to 3 - 4 liters of water a day until September...
Very nice pictures! Hey, so what you didn't get your elk...At least you tried and I bet you will be back. It's too addictive not to. Thanks for sharing your story.
Great picture guy's and story's. I love the chase of elk in the fall. The smell the mountains the screaming bulls. Dammit now I might have to go this fall. Thanks guy's:D
