Just as the title says, does anyone take advantage of places they cant hunt that surrounds places you can? simple question!! This is a map of roughly half the property I lease, inside the blue is the boundries, outside the blue was auctioned off to private owners about 6 years ago. These areas now see very very little if not any pressure fron other hunters. They are hard to acess for them but inside my boundries easier. Granted its about 1.2 miles hike for me but im already hunting places marked in the red. The red with white dot is where I killed Fang last year known as the hub stand. The green are places in going to try and take advantage of other propertys mentioned surrounding ours. There located near some awesome loking bottlenecks, theres bedding near as well as water and power line cut outs. Just got a feeling about these places, so sometime in the next couple weeks will find me in those places. I park in the places marked with white dots and the yellow lines are old quad slash 4X4 trails from years back that we have gated now, The brown line is the power line cut out. any one else trying these stratigies? As you can tell I hunt BIG woods!

I hunt in a similiar way. One of the properties I hunt is about 200 acres. After many years of hunting it, I essentially have only one stand that I now use. It takes advantage of a deep ravine on the neighboring property. The deer from the big woods of each side of neighboring property are forced to travel up and around the top of the ravine which brings them onto my property for probably 200 yards. I would say this is probably my best stand and makes a killer funnel for the rut. I have a good relationship with the neighbors and although we dont hunt on each others property, we are ok with retrieving an animal if needed. (blue is my property, yellow is the deep ravine, red circle is the stand, green lines are the deer movement.
