Idk man I would probably draw and take aim...not sure what would happen next. Heck in that situation I probably wouldn't remember the next 5 minutes anyway...would have to count arrows to figure out if I shot or not haha
Well I'm sorry you took it that way... I don't care if it had vitals the size of a basketball or whether or not it's a monster or a fawn I'm not taking that shot at that distance. Assumptions are easily made behind text. Now move on.
Im surprised its even a topic of question. Absolutely im taking that shot 100% of the time. Buck was calm, broadside and not alerted.
I would have taken the shot. It's a good thing he didn't though since he had to wait overnight to trail him & that was with a gun? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I agree. Im good out to 40. I had a 145- 155 10 pt out to 50 yards about 4 or 5 years ago. Passed him. He was shot in rifle season by the neighbor.
Based on the footage I'd take that shot all day long with a good crossbow. That is at the end of my range for a bow. I'd probably muck it up on a giant like that! hahaahah!
With my bow from a seated position, No I'm not taking that shot. From a standing position in a tree stand, Yes most likely I'm taking that shot assuming He stops broadside. With a crossbow, I'm most likely taking that shot. It seems like the hunter is not an experienced hunter. He didn't feel comfortable out to that distance with a crossbow and I commend him for making the right decision. He struggled to find the buck in his scope on the muzzle loader, again sounds a bit like an inexperienced hunter. I'm glad they were able to find that buck. On a bit of a side note, I was pretty disappointed with the footage. I was hoping for so much better!
If i could have pulled my bow back and all the elements where right i would have shot. I pratice up to 60 yards and have killed deer at 40
The thought of shooting him at that distance would never cross my mind even if I was still shooting a compound.
absolutely, but I practice out to 100 yards all the time. I took my elk at 53 yards this year, complete pass through and he didn't go 10 feet from where I hit him.
I have killed one pronghorn at 47 yards and one hog at 45 yards, but sometimes I just feel like I can do it and other times I don't. Those are the only two animals I have released an arrow on that were farther than 30 yards. So, maybe...........but probably not.
I would have taken the shot, but I don't know that it would have been smart. Deer of a lifetime, for sure. Thanks for the share.
