I drew a archery deer tag but no any bull tag. So it will be OTC archery tag (spike or cow). I thought my one boy would draw a big bull tag this year. Looks like next year for the big bulls.:moose:

I couldn't afford the points game this year so just SD elk and bighorn. Might draw elk well see at the end of the month.

I will have fun regardless. There are 4 of my boys and 3 friends that we all archery hunt elk. About every three years or so one of us will draw a any bull tag. We are still blessed to live in elk country and hunt them. I still play with the bulls. Its amazing to call them in. As y'all know any animal with a bow is a challenge and a trophy.

The older I get the more I enjoy just being out there. I will have to dig up some pictures of elk camp and the area we hunt.

You and I are in the same boat as they say. As long as one of us (there are about 5 of us that apply) can draw an elk tag, I'm happy because I get to go along and do some calling. Just being on the hunt is a great experience. Last year was the first year in the last 6 years that nobody drew an elk tag. We did hunt deer and saw a ton of elk. None of us drew a non-resident tag this year but my buddy in Wyoming just entered the draw so we'll know about that at the end of June. That's when I'll know if I got a deer or antelope license as well. Good luck to you on your hunt; as you said, any animal with a bow is a trophy. I've always said that "Any elk is a good elk" and I believe that now more than ever.
