I see Cabelas has them for $189 thinking of pulling the trigger on one. What kind of video quality can I expect out to 30 yards or so? I am interested in using the replay to analyze the shot is all.
I don't have one but I would try YouTube searching for tactacam videos and go from there. They don't have a fisheye lens so the deer won't look tiny like it does with a GoPro.
I just got the 2.0 cam in this weekend. I will go shoot some video this afternoon and upload it for your to check out. I don't think it really will cover what you want it for. Might be better off with a cheap HD camcorder. That way you have some zoom and its a little cheaper. Here is video from a 1.0 cam.
Yep not what I want, I really don't want to video hunts I just wanted enough resolution to see where the arrow hit.
I don't think you are going to find any bow mounted POV camera that will give you what you are looking for. As soon as you release the arrow, the shock and vibration ruin the quality of the video so trying to use it to analyze the shot just doesn't work very well at all.
Not saying you need to video hunts just saying you could watch the videos on the website to see if it has enough resolution to suit your needs.
Took some video and waiting for it to upload to YouTube at the moment. Once its up I will post. The 2.0 seems a little better than the 1.0 but I wouldn't use it to verify a shot still. Only for a second angle.
I just traded up camcorders to a Panasonic V770 which also has a 4K model. I like these small camcorders because I can secure them to my bow for filming and still shoot with it on the bow. The video of the shot is not always great but I get lots of other footage of the hunt simply and easily. And with my finger I can even zoom in or out at full draw. Old set up on a Mathews. I use a Sony Handicam cx 220 mounted to my bow upside down. I use a Caddy Buddy camera mount to hold it in place. The Sony allows me to zoom in, just make sure the camera is pointed the same place you are seeing thru your sights. Here is a video where you can see how the camera is mounted and see a shot at a deer (miss) with it. I was hunting on the ground, no blind, public hunting area. Deer was at 10 yards.
