There is nothing more pitiful in Wisconsin to the avid bowhunter than the T-Zone hunts in the CWD zones, which covers alot of area. Also, it restricts bowhunters greatly as well, because you are allowed to bowhunt during this time period however you have to wear blaze orange and can only shoot doe. So just as the pre-rut starts heating up and the deer stop being so nockturnal they throw a bunch of guns into the mix and mess everything back up for the bowhunters. Absolutely ridiculous and WI DNR does not seem to care at all!! So now going to have to wait much longer to get the deer settled down for bowhunting again, UNBELIEVEABLE!!!
I hear you. I hunt around Richland County. It is insane how many gun days there have been the past few years. Once the guns come out you might as well reflect on the good days you had and hope there aren't as many gun hunters shooting this year. Only good thing the DNR has brought back is shooting a buck first. I can't tell you how frustrating it was all the years they have had the earn a buck. All that did was guarantee that more yearlings were getting shot. By the time you could get a buck tag gun season started and they went into hiding.
I sat with my bow yesterday with the orange on. I didn't like it but what are you going to do? Not hunt?
I'm not saying I didn't hunt this weekend, I am just disappointed we can't just have our own season with no guns involved and then just wait until the november hunt like years sog. It's just wrong, it chases a majority of the booners away for awhile.
