Me too. I have to save for this. But it is funny though, had no problem dropping close to $900 for the Chill R. Income tax last year. Garage door this year. Maybe next year.

I've bought all of mine from either the bargain cave at cabelas or on ebay and saved a ton of money. the gear is made so well that I'm really not concerned if someone used it for a year and sold it. I hunt in Idaho and use the Open Country pattern, used it high the mountains and in all different kind of conditions. I just picked up a pair of the goretex pants for $174 on ebay, they're $400 new.

does the 2015 line up have a hole in the jacket for a safety harness to go throw?

I've seen a lot of the pieces on camofire.com with 30% off. Other companies will have some type of closeout sale when the new line comes out.

I've used Sitka ever since it first came out. Before Sitka existed I used brands like the north face and companies like that for all my mountain hunts. The hunting clothing back then just didn't cut it in my opinion. Over the years Sitka has come a long way. I like their gear because it's a combo between hunting and mountaineering clothing. Yes it's expensive but it will last you a long time if you treat your gear well. I buy one or two things from Sitka per year and got quit the collection now, I love the stuff. If you do order something from Sitka be aware of their sizes. Normally I wear M clothing and all my Sitka stuff is L. In my opinion Sitka makes the best high quality clothing. I'm also beginning to like kuiu. Made by the same guy that started Sitka. If your looking to safe some money check out kuiu, it's cheaper and the quality is just as good in my opinion. Comparing the two you kind tell how similar they are, and that at one point in time designed by the same guy.

I love their fit, finish, and fabric options. I just can't get over their patterns. I just dont feel there is enough contrast like with a Predator or ASAT.

While I once really liked Wolfskin and a lot of the options from Gray Wolf, ever since they ran out of the original fabric it's hard to stomach the price. I just can't justify paying that much $$$ for something that picks up burrs like the new fabric and gets pulls in it like that.

Right now I feel that there is a huge opportunity for someone to offer Sitka type quality garments in a top end camo pattern like ASAT or Predator. I'm sure they would have a following quickly.

I would agree on the pattern aspect. ASAT was and still is my favorite pattern to date. The things I got away with on stand and on the ground with my 3D suit was amazing.

That being said, the Forest Pattern hasn't let me down yet. I don't use it on the ground during turkey season, though. I still take out my ASAT suit for that.

If someone made a Sitka quality piece in an ASAT pattern, I would switch in a heartbeat (if I could still get my 40% discount that I get on my Sitka, of course):D

If I'm not mistaken, sitka's 2015 line also comes with some kind of scent control, that'll be nice for all you deer hunters, wonder how that's gunna be, compared to scentlok, UA scent control clothing, etc.

It used to be. Not anymore though. I think it's made in China now.

I never had a problem with the pattern. I always thought the forest pattern was a little dark but I've had deer look up and continue to go about their day. Have yet to be busted by sight.

I love both Sitka and Kuiu outerwear. My base layers are First Lite and Minus 33. I have found that buying quality clothing has greatly increased my time in the field. I also buy less new clothing each year. I add pieces instead of getting all new. I have never payed MSRP. I use AT classifieds, Camofire and watch online and local stores for closet outs. Plus if you buy quality name brands you can sell them, and get a fair price when your ready to make a change.

No. I hoped it was when I first saw the price, but sadly like most other hunting gear, it is made over seas. I am still thinking of getting some for next year. I use all UA gear now and like it a lot, but I have gear/bow ADD and need to mix it up every so often :).

I bought a Sitka Coldfront jacket on eBay the other day, I should be getting it within the next few days. I only paid $170 with shipping, I later checked on the website and seen that the coat alone sells for $650. The coati bought was it camo however, it's a charcoal gray color, that's fine by me though for $170. Sitka makes great clothing, but to be honest, if I wouldn't get 50% off on their gear. I don't think I could bring myself to buy the stuff for regular price.
