I just recently picked up a Switchback XT. I had the peep sight adjusted for me, and changes the cam to a 28.5 inch draw. Since then the bow seems to have a strange noise in the string as you draw it back. It sounds like the string is stretching or catching on something as you pull. Makes the same noise everytime you draw after a shot. Can't figure it out..... Anybody have a guess??
is it used or new? mabey you need a new string? with so many parts to a bow it's hard to say what it could be, mabey has to something to do with your release. my buddy complained 2 years ago of some weird noise as he was drawing, believe it or not it was his release rubbing the sting, he got a new one, his was fairly old, and problem solved. i'm not saying that's it but it's a guess, but if the string is used replace it. go to a range and have someone who works there watch and listen, they may see or hear something you can't. hope you solve it, good luck
I had a guy at Bass Pro listen/look at it when I drew.....does it when you draw back by hand as well so, not the release. I'm not sure what the deal is, we couldn't figure it out. Bow only had a couple dozen shots on it when I bought it....... Thanks for the suggestions. I appreciate any help I can get.
I've never had a switchback but my reezen had a noise like you describe and I went on the Mathews forum and asked about it and they solved my problem. Go to the forum there and ask and they will help.
New string, still has the noise. Local bow shop helped me tune, noise seemd to go away, but it returned after flinging about 50 arrows..... have to ask Mathews.
May be a limb torque issue from a bad/soft limb. Check or have someone check the cam lean during the draw cycle. I had a friend with a similar issue. Mathews told him it wasn't a problem on their end but he finally packed the bow up and sent it to them... it came back to him with a new set of limbs.
