    Has anyone planted switch grass?
I am planning on setting up a perimeter around an entire acre food plot using switch grass. I want it to be as tall as possible. Plan is to plant in the spring. Any suggestions?
    Thanks guys!

Just planted it again this past weekend. Had planted about 3 weeks ago. Zero rain until this weekend. Nothing as germinated yet. Was able to spray this weekend with atrazine before it rained. We'll see how it goes.

I sell tons of switch grass to people and work closely with many NRCS agencies. I prefer to have people plant a blend similar to many of the NRCS mixes that contains switchgrass, big blue stem, indiangrass, side oats grama and little blue stem. It isn't as finicky and helps with standability and increased habitat enhancement.

So, year 2 is better than year 3. Year 3 is better than year 2.

I am more than happy to answer questions. I also work with the nature conservancy and other habitat agencies.
