Anyone that uses Swhackers. How do you like them? What’s the pros and cons? How do they fly, what kind of blood trails do you get, etc... Thanks in advance Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I have been shooting swhackers for around 5 years, have had great success with them. 100 grain 2" cut Pro's - In my experience they kill quick and fly true. Con's - If you don't get a pass thru the blood trail can be less than ideal. I have hit the offside shoulder twice preventing pass thru's, in both cases the deer tipped over in sight but the blood trail was not great because the entry hole is only 1". They do a lot of internal damage as they are designed to open inside the body cavity but the entry hole suffers because of this. When you do get a pass thru you will have no trouble following the blood trail if you hit the deer in the vitals.
I've shot both the 2-blade 2" cut and 3 blade 1.75" cut.... Got pass thru's on both deer I've shot with them, but they were both broadside to me. The 3 blade put an extreme amount of blood out, while the 2"- 2 blade not so much.... I did get a nice entry and exit for both though. I think they fly true. I don't think you will make a bad choice with either or.
I use the 2 blade. the blood trail was very good. they do fly pretty well also. you wont be disappointed.
Yep, only mech. Head I'll use, work great and killed lots of deer with them. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
one of the old guys at our deer camp used them in his Xbow. 2"/100gr. He shot a monster (Michigan public land!) 145-ish 6+yo 9 point high and back, clipped a vein that runs into the kidney. He got a partial pass through - head stuck out other side but fletchings did not penetrate near side. Anyway, we tracked that sucker for probably 5-600 yards with spotty blood the whole way - but we found him dead. Probably most any 2" mech would've done the job but I know that anything less than 2" and that deer probably dies of old age. He killed a few others with that head also and swore by them.
