Just finished a new broadhead test. I hope it's helpful.

Have you ever considered a cumulative score when ranking?

I have, and I used to do that. I’m very open to any ideas you may have in that regard. But I found it difficult to accurately represent the depth of penetration in a cumulative score.

Making a definitive scale would definitely have its problems but if it could be figured out it would be vastly superior to any other review that I've seen out there. I'll give it think

John Stallone has such a scale and also good explanation of the pitfalls of a "final score "

Yeah, I agree in theory. But the overarching challenge is that a broadhead’s value is largely based on each individual bow/arrow set up and the animal they’re hunting. If they have a lighter set up or are hunting a bigger animal, then penetration is the most important factor. But if they have a heavier set up or are hunting a smaller animal then cut size is more important. So there really is no “better” head for every hunting situation...so a single cumulative score is really not possible. That’s why I break down the broadhead’s performance in each of the major areas: Flight, Cut Size, Edge Sharpness/Retention, Penetration, and Durability. With that, each hunter can determine which head is best for their hunting set up and quarry.
