While I have my reservations about the mentality of the islamic faith infiltrating other cultures (Not because of who/how they worship but because of their classifications of humans not being equal i.e. Women Rights and Gay Persecution), I think one of the biggest issues ignored here (same with the race issue) is poverty. Poverty leads to crime. It's why our crime rates are so much higher in big cities. Not because everyone in inner cities has more melanin in their skin, its because they live in poverty and have been raised into and accept a culture that promotes or at the very least turns a blind eye to crime and violence.
While I won't disagree with you, living in Florida and spending a lot of time in small impoverished town throughout the state with little to no crime not sure that that fly's. End of the day they live in the wealthiest country in the world with lots of welfare to get you on your feet and opportunity which is why Cubans, Mexican etc. risk their lives just to set their feet on our soil. As far as the middle east, I feel the Kings and rulers have squandered their free wealth of oil on themselves and not created jobs for the people and thats why all the unrest over there. To many males standing around looking for someone to blame for them having nothing to do.
The "Good ole' fashion plague" method is always the answer. That will fix a ton of things, guaranteed. It would especially solve the immigration issues being discussed in this thread.
I live in a county that has a lot of wealth and a decent amount of people (450,000). You would be surprised how many "good kids" from nice homes commit terrible acts and act like animals. Most of them idolize the current trash culture depicted in the below photo.....

It's called indoctranation of a child's mind. The Muslims or Inner City degenerate or whom ever is brought up in that world and structure. That's all they know and believe and most generally live by! If we were able to take all the New born babies from the inner City mothers and raise them up in a mom and pop home with good teachings they would turn out 99% . Well maybe the genetics will cobble it to 75% into good law abiding citizens ! JMHO

I agree with you about your muslim immigration reservations with one codicil, If people immigrate into this country they should do so with a mind to assimilate into this culture, not with a mind to try to change it into the culture that they fled from. Sharia law is not the law of the land, honor killings is not part of our culture, etc. etc. but some which come to this country would like to change our culture to resemble theirs. You want to live here you should be prepared to accept our culture and values. If you don't or won't, go back to what you left since it was so great. I am not talking about someone's freedom of worship and the practice of any religion but don't infringe my rights or privileges to do so. Concerning the poverty of inner cities and crime, I grew up and still live in Appalachia where the famous "War of Poverty" has been taking place for 50 odd years. After billions of dollars spent and countless government programs we still have nearly the identical rate of poverty that we had when started. Crime rates have not skyrocketed nor do people kill each other indiscriminately. I do not feel that poverty is the driving reason for all the crime, it does contribute when desperation takes hold but by in large it has more to do with societal norms that are created from generation to generation. The same financial pressures exist in Appalachia as in the inner cities but most people choose not to become thieves and killers while in some inner cities that has become prevalent. There are many opportunities for people to escape the cycle of poverty but a majority simply choose a path of least resistance which is the status quo.
