    Anyone watching this show?

Holy cow these people are as redneck as there is. I find this show pretty entertaining how these people get along living off the land. It's amazing their lifestyle and culture is still prevalent in this day in age. None of the families are looking to change their life either. They want it to stay as a family tradition. Interesting stuff.

I really enjoy the show. Killing the gators with 22 rifles baffles me lol. Sometimes I think their weights are off..... they seem to man handle "500lb" gators pretty easy.

I have wondered about that too. Seems to me, 500 pounds of dead weight would required more than one person when on a wobbly boat. Especially when you look at the size of some of those guys.

That show cracks me up, even though I can't understand half the words they say. At least I think they are saying words.

It's on Thursday night now I think. At least the season premier is on this Thursday. I have it set to automatically DVR record so I never watch it live.

    Coonass. Get it right.

None of these people live off the land more than most of us do. Their lifestyle is sensationalized quite a bit for the show.

And this guy is filthy rich. His family owns huge tracts of land. Don't let the show fool you.

Sorry...I tried to give the show a chance, but like most of these reality shows on TV, every simple little task is portrayed as 100x more dramatic than in reality. It is the reason why I hate reality TV.

The accents are most likely real though

You can tell they have money on the show. The one son and father have a pretty nice house and huge shed. It isn't like they're broke. I found it funny when the son couldn't shoot the gator 2 feet away and at the end of the show he could. His father was so proud. I could take my 10 year old nephew out there and bet he could pop a gator 2 foot away. It's ridiculously scripted.

Yeah, the Coonass refers to the Cajun lifestyle.

They can call it whatever they want. It's redneck as hell.

So when the one dude catches a catfish and they claim they have something to eat that night now..... that is not true?;)

Oh I completely agree, but if you call a "coonass" a "redneck", they will want to fight you right then. They carry their "coonass" label like a badge of honor.

In my opinion, redneck, coonass, hillbilly, etc are all the same, just different geographic regions.

Do they have a flag like rednecks? You aren't an official redneck unless you have a confederate flag on your truck (with lift kit), mudflaps, or motorcycle helmet...even though only pussies wear helmets.
