I was thinking about getting some swacker broad heads. Anyone shoot them? How are the blood trails? Also since they open up inside what happens as far as blood trails if you do not get a pass through? I was thinking about using these for hogs and deer so any information will help.

    Thanks

I shot them a complete season back in 2010. Over all I liked them, they flew great, great blood, nasty exit holes. I did smack one doe hard in the opposite shoulder did not get much blood at all cause of no exit hole. She did only go about 70 yards an expire. Pretty durable head as well. Really the only reason I switch to what I have now. Is I wanted to go to a 3 blade an not have to mess with anymore rubber bands. Hope this helps you out.

The problem with that head for me is the lack of entry wound......poor design IMO. As stated above if you dont get a passthrough you wont have much blood. The open on impact broadhead designs (Rage, Killzones etc) are the bomb dawg :tu:

I use them and love them..entry hole will only be one inch wide...but I have great luck with them.

How much blood do you get without a pass through? Granted it depends on where you hit but is it enough to track?

No issues tracking it whatsoever...lots of Blood. My buddy shoots the 100gr. 1.75" blades. He killed two bucks last year at around 30 yards out. They might have ran 40 yards at most....blood was all over.

This is why I won't use them. I bought some but I got worried if I didn't get a pass through.

I have only seen one that didn't pass through and it had plenty of blood. It ran about 35 yards and piled up.

You will not have any trouble with these performing. I have shot many different types of broadheads over the years. I tell everyone when they are debating using these broadheads just put one in your hand. You will see a difference. Again the only downfall is the rubberband.

One question that hasn't been asked is what is your bow setup??? Big cut mechanical heads are not perfect for every bow. You really need an exit hole with Swhackers and if your not shooting a bow that makes alot of KE you might not get it.
