Is there a low spot in the fence back behind that lil spike? If so you may wanna hang back there, looks like a bigger body! Hope you get to whack one bud! Good luck!
My stand is actually on the side of the mountain. It is a steep grade. I would like to have a stand back there, but cover is an issue. It is too open. Where this one is at I am sheltered by a pine tree. The pines lead into the field at the base of the mountain, they cut right through them usually. I saw this little deer almost everyday last year (button buck). I am passing on him this year. Last year I saw two other bucks in this stand. One of them only has 1 antler. Two years in a row he hasn't grown the left side. He should be around 4 years old assuming he made it. I haven't seen him this year, but I hope he is still there. I would like to get him with my bow.
Mathews Shooter Have you seen many big deer this year? I haven't seen that many, just a few spikes and 4 pointers here and there. I have noticed that in my neck of the woods, the acorn crop is huge this year. I'd say the big ones will hold up in the thick cover near the acorns. I am checking my cameras one last time tomorrow. Then leaving the area alone until opening day!!!
yeah iam seeing a lot but its keeps getting better every week it started of slow we have plenty i tell ya plenty of acorns
Checked the trail cams today. Plenty of does with fawns. All the pics were from 2AM to 6AM probably has to do with the 90 degree weather. That will make for a rough first week.
