I'd say it's all hearsay at the best. Unless you have very solid evidence I would say do nothing as you may just bring yourself some trouble if your wrong. Not saying it's right and I don't agree with tag sharing but with out some real proof you have nothing.
Believe me I know, and we're actually gather information that seems this has been a re-ocurring thing for a few years now....but like you said until real evidence is present, nothing lawful we can do.
I've used this analogy on another poaching thread, To close your eyes to poaching is allowing acceptable poaching and there is nothing acceptable about poaching. And, why are they any more special than anyone else when it comes to allocated tags... I get one... if my neighbor was shooting 2 and using another's tag, I'd make the call. Again, it's poaching and there's nothing acceptable about it and to do nothing is accepting it, So, something has to be done, it's the what and how that's the question. There's polite ways, right ways and wrong ways, only you (each and every one of us) can make that choice.
well sir if they're in the wrong then the most you could do is either let them know your onto their case or let the gw know, other than that your hands are tied if they are actually telling the truth (which by the sounds of it he's not) but best of luck to you no matter what you do.
My brother in law and his family eats 3 deer a year. Back when Ohio was a 2 deer limit his daughter tagged 1 a year for him. I'll admit I really didn't see anything wrong with something like that. (Puttin grub on the table) It was pretty common practice in these parts. Now we are allowed 4 deer a year. He still only takes 3 and tags all his own now. I have heard of guys shooting deer and when they got to the dead deer decided it was to small so they left it lay. Now that ticks me off!
If the GW came here and asked to see me draw or shoot my bow because some one suspected I wasn't filling my own tags... well, I'd begrudgingly do as the GW asked. But after that.... I'd be looking to give out a Muzzy enema to whoever called him. Twice in WI when I checked in deer I had to go through not-so-subtle questions about what weapon I used, bullet weight or type of broadhead. Trying to determine if I really killed the deer. I have to say, I have a pretty thick skin but that really ticked me off.
Thank you, Christine .... I would tell him to buzz off .... man that would piss me off if someone questioned my kid or wife because they were a kid or a woman
So wait.... You are saying that Kendall isn't the one who's been filling your tags all these years? I don't buy it! So what broadhead are you shooting?
It has been a common practice by some around here. One guy who hunted just north of me got caught. He was in the woods and had his mothers tag on him. Not sure what they did to him.
ok.... now i get it, but really thats kinda what i do. i buy the tag, arrow the doe, meet them at the butchers and they "offer" to pay for the processing and a little xtra for my toubles (the price of the tag). thanks for the clarification guys. win win, they get meat and i get more T.I.W.
Tag sharing: Personally, I speed because I don't mind paying the fine. I don't intentionally break game laws, because I don't want to pay the fine. (loss of license, etc) If I knew that it was going on, I'd tip off the GW, but I'd have to pretty well know that it was the case. It bothers me that it doesn't bother some people that much. Seriously, I'm one of the biggest supporters of a second tag in PA, with serious cost and restrictions, but I want to kill a second buck THAT bad, I'll buck up and take a trip to a neighboring state. Anyone that won't, deserves to be fined or have their license taken. To the Dan/PT side of this thread. Love ya both, but PT..........you're wrong. or I mean .
