As the old saying goes. You have to be in the woods to kill deer. Well this season has been terrible in that regard. Very few hunts and the ones I've been able to do have been ruied by other hunters or weather. The one good hunt I was on this season provided me with 9 deer, 6 of which were within 15 yards. All on the wrong side of me. Today is perhaps the best day of the year to be in the woods and my wife went on an all day shopping trip to Ikea. I'm at home with the kids trying to keep them out of trouble as I stare out the windows wishing I was chasing whitetails. Tomorrow I will be able to do an afternoon hunt but the wind is supposed to be high and the only stand I have for that wind is on the top of a hill. Well I'm going to hunt it anyhow and hope for the best but not sure how many deer will be moving up on a hill with high winds. Best of luck to all of you that are out today.
I know exactly how you feel. This year I have been very limited on my hunting due to work between my wife and I. I maybe get 2 short evening hunts in a week. Its killing me this time of the season.
I know exactly how you feel. I've been out 4 times. I wanted to get out last week so bad, but there just never is enough time. Fortunately I will be able to get out tonight. It always seems like when you are able to hunt the weather doesn't cooperate.
Alright, alright....if it'll make you feel any better....since my wife is in the city today, I'll go sit in a stand and hunt deer. Jeez! I wouldn't do that for just anybody. You better feel blessed!

I'm on the same kind of scedule, Brad... work and kids have allowed me only 4 sits so far this season. That's an all time low for me. I have 9 days of vaca, beginning tomorrow morning. Hoping to add 1 or 2 slick heads to the buck in the freezer... maybe catch my cousin arrowing a big boy on film. I say just get out there.. it's that magical time of the year where ANYTHING can does often happen! Good luck bro!!

Brad stay positive man! I am in the same boat as you this weekend with my sons playoff football game and wife's part 2 birthday party. I am going to try and get out this afternoon and get one. I am not liking the clock changing back tomorrow with the type of schedule I have. With all this going on next Wednesday I will get out to western Wisconsin for a few days of hunting. I'm with you brother. I'm on call for work this weekend going stir bugs. I have not been out that much either as my mother in law passed a couple weeks ago after a rough re occurrence of her cancer.
Hope ya'll are having better weather than we are its 51 degrees but wind at 40 mph with higher gusts.
