    I keep an eye on PETA's website from time to time and just found something interesting there. Under their Action Alert area there is a form letter that is available to be sent to Passaic County, New Jersey that is slamming their decision to use bowhunters in parks to control the deer herd. PETA has it set up to email to the county officials. Funny thing is, you can alter the letter anyway you want. I merely sent Passaic County my congratulations for using bowhunters as an effective and ethical means to help them control their deer problem. Thanks to PETA for making it so easy!

    Please join me in supporting our fellow bowhunters.

    Now you are assuming I know what the heck I am doing on a computer. lol.

    PETA'S website is www.peta.org

    Maybe someone with more savy than I, can find it and make an easy link. I just love messing with those nutjobs. Sometimes they make it so easy. You will have to enter an email address but I figued that may provide hours of entertainment.

    Thanks GABowhunter for posting the link. Appreciate your help

    I was extremely happy to learn that Passiac County has decided to allow hunters to kill deer living in and around its parks with some of the most archaic weapons available: bows and arrows! Bow hunting is among the most effective forms of hunting. Continue the good work

    Please continue all plans to use bow hunting to kill deer and instead of explore long-term deer-management methods that aren't as effective and humane.

    thats what I wrote.

    We are having a white-out blizzard today but this makes me all warm and fuzzy. Thanks guys. PETA is never bashful about speaking out and its time we all do the same for all types of hunting/fishing/trapping, etc.

    Thank you for allowing bowhunting in Passiac County, NJ. Allowing people to control the deer herd using natural means such as bowhunting will lower the overall deer herd numbers. Bowhunting lowers the herd number in a safe, respectable manner. I applaude your decision. Thank you.

    Here's my ammended version;

    Subject: Support of Deer Management

    "I am enheartened to learn that Passiac County has decided to allow hunters to kill deer living in and around its parks through the use of bows and arrows! Bow hunting is a widely used and effective tool in the management of game populations in urban areas. Bow hunters have been effectively, responsibly and humanely harvesting deer in urban management programs around the country for decades.

    Thanks for your enlightened plans to use bow hunting to kill deer as a long-term deer-management method that is both effective and humane."

    The only thing I worry about is that the recipients will likely not read each letter and will only see that they received X number of letters in opposition to bowhunting from PETA and that our numbers are going to be counted in that tally...

    Edit: I got an auto reply to my email "Support of Deer Management" to Raymond Wright stating that he was out of the office. I also got one from PETA thanking me!! :)
