Any one superstitious when it comes to hunting? What do you do, or do you have a lucky hat or other piece of clothing?
I set up all of my climbing sticks so that my first step is with my right foot and I have an old "lucky" shirt that I break out if I am trying to change my luck.
I Cary my empty shell from the first buck I shot when I was 8.been carrying it with me for 18 years. I've left it in my bow case a couple of times and didn't see anything those mornings call me superstitious but I never leave that she'll behind anymore
The black cat or hare crossing the street means bad luck. If you see the woman with empty barrel the hunt will be bad. If someone wish you to have a good hunt, you have to tell no under furs and feathers
I always have a pair of lucky boxers they are getting alittle old in age so i may have to rub them off on to something else.
I have to say a before hunt and end of hunt prayer...even if deer are coming in asap quick prayer will be said.
I'm going to see an Exorcist soon. The past couple seasons have been tuff ones for getting good bucks within range. I know I've been jinxed or someone has a curse on me. Maybe it's the curse of the camera. Trying to film myself hasn't helped, but I can't really say it has cost me a good buck.
I try to be a good steward of the land and everything living within it. If a buddy shoots a deer.. I'll be there to help. If garbage is laying on the ground.. I pick it up. I even try to minimally cut trees and tree branches.. its their woods.. I'm just visiting. These are my superstitions.. I feel if I am good to the land than the land will be good to me. So I am always as good to the land as I can be.
I have my lucky stand. I just knew it was a stand that would have a bunch of activity and I was right. They may not always come into bow range but, when I need to see a deer, I know I can go hunt it and see at least one.
