I know it's easy to say give Marshawn the ball... I would have done so.... I also see how it's not completely ludicrous to pass there. They expect the run. Marshawn was 1 of 5 for a TD this season when running from the 1 yard line. Of 109 passes from the 1 yard line this year, none had been intercepted. If you run and are stuffed, they force you into basically having to run on 3rd down which makes defensive schemes even easier. The memes are awesome, and I personally disagree with the play call.... But had the rookie CB not made a hell of a play on the ball and it resulted in an easy TD instead, most of these same detractors would be praising Pete's brilliance in passing there.
The pass was too high it allowed the CB to go thru arms instead of body to get to the ball. I do not like an inside pass on that play and play action I don't recall was there?
Fair enough... Honestly I thought it equally insane of Bill to allow the clock to run out when they reached the 1... I'd have been burning time outs for sure leaving Brady some time for last ditch effort. If they score after the clock ran down to 20, automatic game over.
Yeah I didn't get that logic either. I was actually thinking they should've let them score for a last chance for Brady with as much time as possible.
I believe part of the reason they did not give to ball to Marshawn is he was 1 and 5 in similar situations this year, at least I believe that is the stat I heard earlier today. Not sure if that means inside the ten or at the one?
