Well... not much to say other than that was probably the worst Super Bowl I've ever watched from snap #1.
Worst Super Bowl of my lifetime. Boring game and horrible commercial line up. That said, it's always good to watch a Manning receive an epic beat down. Loved that part. Better team definitely won.
Manning is not the greatest quarterback of all time. He has more playoff losses then any quarterback who has ever played. He has choked away 2 Super Bowls where he was the favorite. The sad thing is...Denver racked up all these records and then suffered one of the worst defeats in Super Bowl history. What is the average NFL fan supposed to think of this? Does the regular season mean anything? Does an elite offense mean anything? Does having an elite quarterback mean anything? ESPN is going to have a field day with this.
Agreed on both parts. Denver was literally embarrassed. Ive never seen any "title" game so lopsided in my lifetime. The "America the beautiful" commercial was embarrassing. Denver's "greatest offense of all time" was embarrassing. Budweiser had the best commercial yet again, but it didn't compare to last year.
I enjoyed the "Dale Call" Mtn Dew commercial the most. And the most lopsided Championship was the Crimson Tide beat down of LSU 3 years ago. The Tigers didn't cross midfield until the mid 4th quarter. LOL (Mantei Teo being put in place was a close second). I will say one thing in Peyton's defense....the better team was clearly Seattle. Not to say he was playing with scrubs, but Seattle is a much superior roster. And Seattle was favored by Vegas (they know what they are doing)... heavy public betting swayed the line in favor of Denver (something like 80% of the money bet was put up on the Broncos).
I'm not saying the score would be the same but Denver could not handle Seattle's defense. I don't see that changing if they played again. Denver O-line can't block them and receivers can't get separation. Then there is the matter of Denver not having a good defense (terrible last night). Seattle showed they are clearly a better team. Manning had no chance.
Denver never recovered from the first snap. They had the deer in the headlights look all night. And by they, I mean all of them, offense, defense and special teams. They couldn't handle the stage and seatle exploited it. Seatle was/is the better team but Denver is no where near as bad as they played and Seatle is nowhere near as good as they looked. You're right. I think Lynch would have a bigger game and the beatdown would be even worse. Nothing else would really change.
I love how people are using the "most playoff losses of all time" stat against Peyton And he was not favored in 2009. No team was beating that Saints team in New Orleans. The regular season doesn't mean anything. That was apparent when Brady choked away a perfect season to lose to an 8-8 Giants team (Brady fans always forget this...) And time and time again, an elite defense has proven that it will beat an elite QB. How do you think Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson have SB titles?
I think many people have too high of expectations for the Super Bowl. It can't be this perfect game with spectacular commercials every year. Watching Seattle’s D was a thing of beauty. I enjoyed myself.
Three years ago, I would have wanted nothing more than Peyton to win another title. That was before he went to Denver. From that moment on, I wish him nothing but failure. Sorry, I hate the Bronco's that much!
Richard Sherman got in Peyton's and the Broncos head before the game. Peyton has a history of going mental in big games
Seattle appeared faster, more intense, and much more enthusiastic. The leaders on the Broncos did not rally the troops.
