We had no Sunday hunting until around 10 years ago here as well. Luckily they changed it. Good luck to you guys having it reversed.

I still can't believe the Carolinas have restrictions, the south usually has no issues with people other than hunters deciding the fate of our seasons. To much revenue, and tradition as well. Very interesting map Rob.

    This is wrong.

NJ has Sunday Bowhunting, and, I believe firearms hunting will be permitted, as well.

Is it a shocker that the North East has the most amount of "restrictions" ? Seeing as how we have the most dense consolidation of idiot liberals, and liberal schools, here...Hmm?

Yeah it's a real bummer not being able to hunt on Sundays.

Is religion or worship the predominant reason?

Yeah.......(yawn)...the sleep was nice, but after all the rut activity yesterday, I'd have loved to follow it up with a hunt. I get to hunt 6 mornings a year in bowseason, the rest is in the evenings. I'd still be out of the woods and in church at 10:40 every week, but there's a lot of hunting to be done before 10:00.

True, As of this map (NRA) NJ has changed it's ways to some degree.

And no, it's no shocker. I wish the Heartland of this country would lead this county and NOT the east and west coasts. Sure would be a better country.

    Amen !!

It's not secret that the people on the East Coast live and express very liberal ideals and mindsets. The "true red-blooeded Americans" have been out-weighed by the new breed of "business" morons.

The see what they want to see, which is usually green and worth nothing, in all reality, and cannot be convinced of anything other than what will make them more rich.

I'm not sure how bad it is near you in PA, Rob, but, NJ is getting BAD. There is an "organization" for everything, a law restricting EVERYTHING, and I think I now have to pay taxes when I flush my toilet !!

If we send our children to schools with a liberal agenda, then off to a College with the same agenda- what can we expect ? The liberal education system is "growing" more liberals. Its like flies, just reproducing...

    Im done...now....:)

That map should have Pa in green instead of blue as there is limited hunting on Sundays, just no deer hunting. I guess they'll wake up sooner or later.

Virginia out and outright stinks. I don't know what else to say. For the working man, Virginia has to be one of the worst states in the country for a guy to hunt. Only saving grace is the 3 month season and multiple tags.

I'm with you Rob. As much as it's nice to have the break on Sunday sometimes, this time of year, I'm like Ben. I don't get much time off during the season, so I'm really limited to evenings and Saturday mornings. It would be nice to have an extra morning each week.

i am pretty moderate, and i'll tell yah sunday hunting was not prohibited ever because of the "libral agenda" Sunday is a day of rest, it was a day of worship. now to many it is just another day. the reason it is a hunting day is becuase of moderates and librals that dont go to church, and would rather hunt.

I do not follow here...are you saying they (liberals) are the reason we get to hunt sundays in most states? If so, please look at the map again, the states, especially the deep south are far from liberal dominated. I never even knew there was a sunday ban in any state until I joined HNI and you guys spoke of this. Sit in the stand until 9:30, make it home and sit in the pew until 12, talk to the preacher about what I saw and how good it was to see Alabama roll...and then he slams us and plugs his GA bulldogs. Man now that I have typed this I will reiterate once again that I will turn to dust in the south.

If I have mistaken what you meant please excuse me as I am not trying to argue...just better understand.

I don't think the liberals have much to do with it here in north carolina:

    But thankfully they didn't win:

I stated that the more liberal States have more restrictions on hunting, firearms, archery, extreme sports and so on..

What he was saying is that the No Sunday Hunting thing has nothing to do with liberals or their agenda. He is correct, no sunday hunting, from what I have learned, is based on religious beliefs.

However, now-a-days, we are restricted due to a liberal agenda and the politicians attempt to please the activist groups. Take, for example, no NJ Bear Hunting.

NJ is PACKED with bear, like seriously, its bad. Well, our communist govenor gave into the activist groups and banned bear hunting. Just an example. He didnt even know hwo much money the state gained from hunting and fishing....

I just have a hard time seeing where religion is why no sunday hunting is enforced. Look at all the "bible belt" states, almost all of them hunt on Sundays. I have more friends at church who change in the parking lot than you can imagine. We range from 12 or 13 to 60 and 70 years old. Not saying it is not true, but just hard to believe. I have no facts or quotes, just 30 years of living in GA and seeing hunting/fishing as a part of life.
