I found one for sale for $75. Would this be worth it? The guy says he has hardly used it and says its in good condition. I am not sure how old it is. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

The Summit viper is a great stand, if it is truly in good condition it is certainly worth it. If you can find out what year it is and check to make sure it has n recalls.

Great stand and a great price. Just make sure you look it over close. Always wear a safety harness. Do you know the guy? Do you trust him?

I have a Summit climber, not the viper, but love it. If it is in good shape I would go for it definately!!! Thats a really good price for that climber.

A summit viper is about two or 3 years old they are great stands. You have found a great deal if its in good condition they are around 350 for a new one. I thought about gettin one but I can never come up with the money

I have a Summit Viper that I bought in 2004, it's gone up and down a LOT of trees and it's still going strong. I think that it will most likely be replaced with a Lone Wolf Climber this fall.

If its the aluminum version, its a steal. They did make several stands a few years ago that were steel as well.

I dont personally know the guy selling it. It is on craigslist but as far as pictures go it looks good. I might go chech it out and if it really is nice I may just have to buy it. He says he has used it sparingly for 5 years.

Its a fair price if the welds are strong and he is not 300lbs.

Wow! I got to try a lot of climbing stands before I bought mine including the Summit Viper. Extremely comfortable. Very safe. Just make sure you can shoot from it. At a very light 5'6" I could never get the stand positioned to shoot without the bar being in the way of my bottom limb/cams.

    happy hunting, dv
