So last year I bought my first climber, a Summit Viper classic, not an SD or whatever. I only used it a couple of times and just have not felt comfortable in it. After a couple of uses I noticed the cleats on the bottom have bent upwards. I also noticed that on this model the cleats are at the top of the frame and on the higher end models it is in the middle. Also on the classic the weld does not go all the way to the frame, there are only a few sections wih about 4" each welded, which I think is absolutely stupid.

I am an average size guy, 5'10", 190lbs, and don't think it should have bent. I have not called summit and now am in a time crunch.

Anybody else had this problem? It appears the higher end summits are made more sturdy.
