LOVE'EM!!!! awesome for all day sits!! congrats! a few suggestions to make it even better! depending on how far of a treck you got, I would suggest spending the $60 and getting the game plan gear treestand transport system=AMAZING!!!!! definitely worth the money! I would also suggest getting the third hand archery stabilizer straps, and bowholder=AMAZING! you can climb with your bow in the holder, and the straps are like LW straps, making the stand ROCK SOLID!! only downside is that its like carrying a box truck on your back! and they are a bit loud.

There super comfortable. Worst part is wrapping your arms around a tree to get the cables connected. Once there connected its piece a cake and real quite.

That transport system looks like it would come in handy for long treks in. If he doesn't buy that, he can get a decent pair of padded backpack straps for about $20. I have the summit ones and they are definitely better than what came with the stand.

As far as those stabilizer straps, I watched the product's video and I think they are useless to be completely honest. I've been hunting from my Summit Razor (very similar to the Viper but the front bar folds underneath) for 8 years now. I've never had any problems like the guy was talking about in the video. As long as you use the cinch strap that came with the stand and cinch the top part of the stand to the tree, shouldn't have an issue. Also, the stand comes with a short rope to tie the two sections together. Not trying to knock your advice but just letting the OP know other options exist. I kinda like the transport system you recommended. That stays attached to the bottom platform once you're in the tree, right?

Agree, I use the straps to tie gear to the stand on the way in and out. That's all. I've hunted out if them for years, super easy to use.

Matt, are you talking about the cinch strap that came with the stand? I put my backpack on the "V" of the stand and the strap goes around my pack to hold it. Also, I have a buckle strap sewn to the pack to go around the cinch strap to hold it in place.

    Congrats.

The stabilizer straps are well worth it and add a huge level of safety to any stand. Not only does it make a stand rock solid but it also prevents you from dropping the bottom portion when climbing. When I had a Summit that happened, luckily I was only 10 feet up lol. I have used them since day one with my LoneWolf and will never own a stand without them again.

yes it does stay attached, and it truly disperses the weight and makes it so much more comfortable, no more strain on your neck and shoulders at all.
BUT, I totally disagree about the stabilizer straps, I have used a viper and dagger for 4 seasons, and always felt like I had to be extra careful while standing so I don't bump the top section and have it fall down. the straps make the stand feel as secure as a hang-on. you never have to worry about bumping the top section when your standing because it is cinched down, you can even lean against it while standing for a shot (which is what I did earlier in the year when I shot my sept. buck.) or for added comfort. and, they work great for connecting the 2 pieces for transport. not sponsored/ or a leg humper of thirdhand at all, those are two excellent products I swear by. but YES there are other options, and the stand does come ready to use as is!! either way OP enjoy and good luck to you!!

Sitting in a viper sd right now. I let my dad try it one day. Now he's sitting in one this morning as well. Super comfortable. Been thinking of getting the side bags for it too.

Does the Game Plan Gear Tree Stand Transport System come with the little straps that connect to the stand? If so, how many? Thanks.

Yes, I want to say 4-5. I don't have it in front of me. Also you can buy more of the little straps to have on another stand.

Thanks Matt. I looked at them last night but it didn't say if they came with the straps or not. You can get 8 for $14.95. I'm thinking I might buy the system and extra straps so I can rig up my LW and my Summit Viper since I use those the most. My hike in is 1 to 1.5 miles in some steep terrain and I've been using the straps that came on the stand. I'm old enough now I can justify trying to get comfortable when I hike. :D

OK maybe it is 8, I need to order another set. Mines on my Alpha right now, I need a set for my viper too. I love the way it carries...depending on which place i have a mile plus, sometimes 3+.
