The cables on my treestand have have begun to loose some of the rubber/plastic coating on them. The actually cables are not damaged or rusty. It's just the coating. I was wondering if you guys have ever fixed them yourselves. I found this on ebay..

Not sure if it woud work good or not. Anyone ever repair their climbers cables?

I just got a viper, while watching the video it said the coating maywear. Just as long as your cable is not unraveling or is rusty real bad. Or you can just call summit.

My biggest concern is the noise it was making at the end of the season.

I had the same issue and just bought the shrink wrap and it worked good. Like new again.

Buy new cables. Problem solved. My cables coating has been coming off for years. No extra noise that I've noticed.

I have a new Viper and have used it twice and the black coating is coming off already. I think its normal when you have metal on metal contact. As long as the cables are in good shape its fine.
