This year, I have become a loyal customer to Summit stands. I have owned this Viper XLS climber for about 5 or 6 years. It was THE stand when I bought it. It is certainly not as technologically advanced as many of them that are coming out now, but certainly good enough. It weighs about 20 pounds (give or take a couple), backpacks in conveniently, and until this year has been totally quiet. I began noticing when I dug it out this September that it had developed a creak in the bottom platform, which I wasn't surprised after that long of wear and tear, being tossed around and holding my ass up in the tree. I couldn't find the source and didn't know what to do because I was afraid of spooking deer, so I called Summit. I was straight forward in telling them that I had used it for about 6 years and described its symptoms. They told me they needed to inspect it for safety and that they were going to send me a box with prepaid postage to send it to them in. I was satisfied, but a bit apprehensive about forgoing the use of my stand for a large part of bow season. When I got home the next day I found my box, but they had actually shipped me a brand new platform complete with backpack straps, the new rapid climb stirrups, and a new full body safety harness! Unbelievable customer service!

You guys can have your lone wolfs, I'll take my $100 and be perfectly content!

Perhaps he was just sharing his experience so that other people who may be looking for stands can read it and get something useful out of it? Customer service and backing their product is a big positive. If I moved around enough that I would need a climber I would definitely consider them. Thanks for sharing.

I guess we need to post a disclaimer on our posts.

-Warning- GMMAT may care about this post.

    ...anyhow...

I had a platform on my new summit climber that had a rivet hole slightly off from where it should have been. It made running the cable through a bit difficult, so I just did a bit of metal 'work' to it to remedy the situation.

I did email Summit about, just to let them know. Like your experience, they immediately sent a new platform.

    Great customer service!

LoL don't worry about it GMMAT, I had wondered what upset you so much about the post, but it happens. And yeah I just thought that there may be someone interested in a treestand (being a bowhunting site) and thought my experience my be of some help to someone. I had meant to put this on here earlier in the season, but just never got around to it and considered putting it under product reviews, but I saw that noone had used that forum for about a week and a half. Nonetheless, yeah GMMAT I would probably wonder why in the world someone would want me in particular to know that too...

Summit is awesome! My brother broke one of the straps on his stand and they sent him new ones with no questions asked! You have to love service like that.

I have heard that about them. I actually use Lone Wolf. I also am completely satisfied with their customer service.

It is great when we can get things from a American company, that are great in Quality and they have super customer service to boot.

My Viper is about the same age, and I absolutely love. In fact I convinced a buddy of mine to buy one & now he's hooked. They are an awesome stand. I use mine alot.

Summit stands are one of the top notch companies in the hunting industry IMO. They make a GREAT product and have EXCELLENT customer service.

They are one of the companies that truely "gets it" IMO.

They will always be on my short list of choices when looking for stands.

I would say that my Goliath stand has performed flawlessly for 5-6 years now and has been a significant factor in the killing of many deer over that time..........100% thumbs up.
