Actually this is a Chevrolet vs Mercedes debate. The only thing Summit has going for it in my opinion is the seat. The frame and quietness of the platform as well as build quality goes to lone wolf by a mile. People keep buying the standard sit and climb. They make a wide version now that is the same width as the summit and you can put a Summit seat on it and lean back. Now you have the best of both worlds comfort and the best frame made

WHY on God's green earth would someone $450 bills for a treestand only to have to purchase half of another one?

Sorry....I have the "Mercedes" ...and yes the seat sucks....but I've had the platform slip on me....no thanks....

Now my Alpha hang on....LOVE it...but that SlipnClimb......Na.....

Almost all of the complaints I've heard about the LW sit and climb are situations that you iron out as you use the stand more, they aren't design/construction flaws. If everything in the USA was made as well as a LW stand (USA made), this would be a different country!

I just got the lone wolf hand climber this year.. its hands down better than my old loggy. Its way more stable climbing and I like how quiet it is. Packs down easy and small. I have been thinking about buying just the top section of the sit n climb and take it for longer sits and the reg hand climber top for sitting a couple of hrs.. but doubt I will drop $200 + on the sit n climb top this year

ive always use lonewolf. I have used their climbers. but on public or private. theres not a lot of straight trees. I used what the guys like dan infalt from hunting beast use. a lone wolf assault with 4 lw climbing sticks.

I know this thread is old but I saw it this morning and wanted to respond again. I have since gone back to a summit climber. I hunt from September 9 until January 1 and even in the early-season I hunt 10 to 12 hours a day the entire season. I cannot do that in a Lone Wolf as I get older. My summit Viper is pretty quiet and is the stand I am using now. If I use a lock on I will use the lone wolf alpha or the millennium M100U.

I believe the new Hawk climbers have this function.

It really is a Chevy/Ford kind of thing. Summit makes a great stand, I'll never argue that, but my first stand was my LW sit and climb 15 years ago. I'm still using this stand and love it as much as ever. I've had zero problems with it. I honestly believe it's the most light weight, quiet stand out there! It's not the most comfortable stand, but I still have no problems with dark to dark sits.

Since this thread has been returned to the top, I'll put my two cents in.

I've used my lone wolf wide sit and climb for 1.5 years now in addition to my summit viper. Both are good stands and different in many ways. I put a summit seat on my LW and that helps quite a bit. However, the summit is still more comfortable.

Lone Wolf has a few things going for it. It's much more quiet, packs flat, has stabilizer straps and I like being able to adjust it for tree size mid climb. There are some cons though. In my opinion, the V on the platform is much too narrow for me. I find that many times, I'm only using the corner.

The summit is solid in every way. The only negatives would be how big it is while it's on your back and the noise of it due to the hollow tubes.

If I were doing it over again, would I buy the lone Wolf? I'm not sure. I like having both as they have their own applications

Those look pretty nice, but I don't think they're intended to adjust while climbing or at your desired height.
I think Ole Man makes one , but it gets bad reviews. This is the Equalizer. Been using the hell out of it for 10 years and it still functions like new and rock solid.

I started out in the early 70's with a baker climbing tree stand( I think they may have been the original commercially produced climber) they were the biggest POS you could waste your money on. Fast forward to today, climbers have come a long way and its hard to say that one is a quantum leap over another. I like summit, I have one of their older stands that still works fine and I picked up a Titan that I really like except for the weight. Nothing beats having lots of room especially during late January season when you look like the michelin man up in the tree.
