I was thinking about using a few of the boxes I have sitting in my home and filling them with Packing peanuts since I have the stuff laying around...

Do you think it would stop an arrow effectively?? I am going to be using the boxes to catch arrows in case I miss my bag because I have already lost 2 arrows in the woods across the street from my house...

    Any input is greatly appreciated

You have launched arrows across a street?

No, a box filled with foam peanuts will not stop an arrow.

Not on purpose... There is an empty lot across the street from me... I live in a really rural area ... Im not shooting across a busy road like you may be thinking but when i missed the bag they wound up in the woods across from my front yard

No peanuts won't do crap. Get a bunch of burlap bags and old clothes. If you dont have old clothes get some clothes from salvation army or goodwill.

You will blow right through a box filled with peanuts. You can try stuffing it as tight as possible with old clothes, towels and blankets. That usually works pretty well or you can go support your local archery shop and buy a bigger target!

You're donating those clothes to your archery habit. Im pretty sure those stores have enough clothes and no one will be walking around naked because they didn't get your clothes.

A box filled with packing peanuts!!?? I'm pretty sure that won't work very well. I use an old 50# dog food bag stuffed with am ex girlfriends clothes. It's really the best field point target i've ever used. Arrows slide right out. I use a big chunck of styrofoam that broke off of my neighbors dock for broadheads.

Likely it would just slow the arrow down some. I use haybales for the same purpose, if you put them two deep with a little space between the front and back rows it usually stops that errant arrow.

No... I just shoot a block from an elevated stand... if I miss for some reason, I hit the ground.
