Throw some rubber snakes on the cement. We did that by our pool, and it stopped the birds immediately. Just be sure to warn all your guests about the snakes. Unless, you enjoy scaring the crap out of people.

I got a gamo whisper for xmas last year. it has killed 2 feral cats and 1 ground hog. All were about 70yd shots. 1 shot 1 kill, all head shots. Its very lethal for small game. I put a 3x9 scope on it and its a tack driver at 100yds. I think my gf got it for 160$ on sale during blackfriday... think retails was like 240$ well worth the money.

Ha! I think owls give them a shot once in a while also. On occasion, I find one in the pool or laying out in the yard. My wife went nuts with the snakes and we have about 20 of them! She REALLY hated the bird crap. lol

I like the gun except for the safety. The safety being right in front of the trigger is not a good design. But I guess I'm glad that is my only problem with it so far.

I'm not even sure I knew there was a safety being a single shot pump air gun. I guess it's different when you're teaching a kid gun safety, so goodonya. I'm sure you'll both like it!

We have Hatsan USA air rifles and they are incredible but that's a bit out of your price range.
