Another reason I hope it happens. More interesting story line than any other applicant. And LOL at a Michigan fan calling anyone besides their own program a national punch line these days...
Hook Did Studawa leave on his own or was he persuaded out after LSU missed on so many bluechip recruit "locks" down the stretch? Is he the fall guy, or did he move on on his own accord? He seems like a good coach.
Hey start your own thread bucknut Great B-ball game against sparty, I thought Izzo was going to explode
I didn't catch it... I don't watch much NCAA hoops until March anymore. How life changes with kids. MSU has it going on up there in hoops and on the field.
They have as much "star power" (from the recruiting services) as about anyone but they have vastly under performed. UofM led the nation in negative yardage plays on offence this year.
He was told he needed to look elsewhere. He did nothing during his time as OC and OL coach. Not only was he a horrible coach, but he was worthless on recruiting. So glad to see him gone. But it wasn't his fault for losing the high profile recruits from LA this year. For some reason, there seems to be an anti-LSU thing going around with the HS athletes in LA. I think it's because most of them have been expected to go to LSU for the past 4 years, and they just want to shock or show people they are their own person. I don't know. I do know that 2 of them straight up lied to the coaching staff about their intentions.
When UT hired Kiffy everyone liked to point out that he didn't actually call the plays, Sarkisian did. I would think Bama would be looking for more staff continuity than a one year OC.
Yes. But LA has 6 5* recruits this year. 4 have already committed elsewhere. 2 of those 4 were thought to have been absolute locks to LSU, as one of them is the nephew of the LSU RB coach.
I cannot stand Lane Kiffin. In my opinion that would be a bad pick up for Alabama. If Alabama has any kind of offensive success over the next 1-2 years, Kiffin bolts yet once again to another head coaching position. The recruits will know what is going on with him.
With that said, that #1 overall recruit was Leonard Fournette, who has been called by many to be the best RB recruit since Adrian Peterson. He has been graded as a late 1st draft pick if he could enter the NFL draft this year.
He was the OC in 2005 after Chow went to the nfl which happens to be the season they played Texas for the NC. USC's O was beast.
Isn't that the story with any major program coordinators though? The more successful they are the quicker you lose them to HC positions?
Sports Chronicle™ ?@sportstalkzac 1m Lane Kiffin is expected to be offered the OC position at Alabama within the next hour. Sources close to the action say he will accept today. So apparently this is really happening. Wow.
