So me and a good friend of mine put alot of work scouting, trail cameras, and putting stands up since august this year and we believed we deserved to be rewarded this year. Little did we know it would happen an hour and 45 minutes into opening day. SO I am planning the hunt the night before and thinking out of all the stands we put up which ones we would have the best chances on opening day. Narrowing it down to the 2 we will take we wait for the alarm at 4:30. For some reason I give my buddy the stand I was gonna sit and take one 150 yards from him. We got into the stands around 5:30 and waited what seemed hours for shooting light. I hear movement all around me before sun up and nothing after sun up. So about 7:45 i get a tx from my buddy I shot a buck..I think he is full of it and before I can tx him back he calls me so I know he is for real because he is blowing up my spot now. He has never shot at a deer with a bow or rifle so I can tell talking to him it's for real. About 45 minutes later I make my way over to him and he is so excited he is almost falling out of the stand. After a 30 minute track we found him in a small brook all done...lung shot. He was so excited when I got to him he had no idea if he had even hit him. I was just as happy as if I shot him because I basically set up the hunt and it went perfect...could of been a little happier if it was mine but made my day seeing how happy he was....He dressed out at 200 even and had 9 points......A day I will remember for a long time!!!! Ill try to get a pic up soon computer isnt cooperating!!!

Sounds awesome man sometimes seeing people's excitement is better than shooting it yourself. Plus you aren't obligated to drag it. LOL

So far only made it out for an 1 1/2 each night after work. Hunted the outskirts of a corn field tonight. Got in my stand and all ready and then BOOM BOOM. Some dude shooting pheasants in the field. Then he starts yelling at his dogs. You could tell he has no clue how to train a dog. He screaming at em and they were mouthing the crap outta his game! I was pissed my spot was blown up BUT glad my dog knows how to retrieve.
