I had the pleasure of going back home to Nebraska this past weekend and hunt. The out of state pheasant tag really sucks, but well worth the hunt IMO. We had a 4 man limit in 4 hours. We probably saw 150 birds in that 4 hours. 65/35 Roosters. Here are some pics. Nebraska is coming alive again for pheasant hunting.
What part of Nebraska did you find them? In my corner of the state they have been all but extinct for several years. Congrats on the nice hunt.
That is great to hear, haven't hunted pheasants in Nebraska for a few years but will say that the numbers around my place are definitely up as well. This year is by far the most gun shots heard from the stand in the last 10 years and I'm hearing birds while sitting in a stand as well. I hope you are right and things are starting to finally come around again. Glad you had a good trip.
It's great to see some birds around Nebraska again. I've been out a couple times seen more than past years.
I love pheasant hunting. And really love rabbit hunting. Its tough for me if I dont fill my deer tags early because then im torn between sitting in a stand or running my dog on birds and bunnies.
We hunted a lot of federal land, but also some private land. My buddy has about 1500 acres that he "let go" to conservation and lets the wildlife make their homes in it.
I WILL go pheasant hunting one day. If you don't mind, what does an out of state tag cost and how many to a limit?
