When others achieve something that I helped make possible. A friend with his first buck, first trophy fish or even a first squirrel causes me to cherish the moment. Success may be found in knowing that I will be a permanent frame in the mental photo of someone's life album.

Even more; I define success by being used to help others realize that there is far more to life than our temporal pursuits.

What others have and I'll never have. Success apparently doesn't happen with hard work, sacrifice, loyalty, honesty and treating the job as more then just a paycheck. This I have learned. Now I wish I could unlearn what my old man instilled in me, go back in time and make the job just a paycheck. Life would have been much simplier and easier. I would have probably found success.

To me, it would mostly depend on what you did with it.

I'd say substantially in the business/work related world. Then again, some of the happiest people in the world go home to a great family without two nickels to rub together. There is much more to life.

"The measure of your own deeds is worthless, the value that others put on them is what counts."
Success in life is living your life in a manner that makes a positive difference for those close to you.
