There has been a direct human study being conducted since the 1960's. hundreds of thousands of pounds of CWD infected venison eaten by tens of thousands of humans over 50 years. There has been no recorded link between eating CWD infected meat and a human host being infected. THis study is ongoing.

But humans do have Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease which eating CWD meat may or may not increase the risk of the human version.

Its naturally occurring in humans (and deer) and investigations are done to every person that contracts VCJD to determine if there is a link to consumption of CWD infected meat. In states with CWD and the ability to test, when you get a positive you are asked if you consumed any of the meat. Your name is entered into a registry if you have done so.

Last time I checked the medical fields cure for blindness is still a seeing eye dog. The medical field is not an exact science there is much they do not know so we need to not assume that what "they" say is always right or correct. What was the last major disease that was cured or eliminated?

Polio isn't completely eradicated yet. Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nigeria still had cases in 2016.
