Anyone have any experience? I've got a reasonably quiet bow (see signature line). I bought it AFTER Hoyt came out with the Vectrix and the inclusion of the string suppressor was the only big difference I saw. Anyone have any experience with them? Worth the $40 on a bow that is initially pretty quiet?
Get a meanv suppressor. They're costom made to fit your bow. I have one and let me tell you... dead in the hand. Go to the wedsite meanv.com and check them out. They come in black and most camo patterns.
A started using an STS system in '05 and never looked back. My bow is noticably quieter and has less hand shock with one installed. I originally had a true STS on my '05 Allegiance which I just replaced this year with a new Diamond Marquis. I removed the OEM string suppressor and installed a Norway String Tamer, which I LOVE. IMO the string suppression system in general is one of the best innovations to come along in quite some time. It's simple, relatively cheap, and very effective. In your case with the Trykon I believe you dont' have a rear-mount bushing so you'd need a front mounted model. We sell the String Tamer Master, which is the front-mounted model of what I've got. If you want one, they're at this link: http://www.bowhunting.com/shopping/Products/String-Tamer-Master__NW-STMASTER.aspx Anyone who purchases any String Tamer product will get a free Bowhunting.com hat if you mention this post in your order notes.
I use a suppresor on my Trykon. As the other guys stated they work awesome and you will never go without one once you try it.I use the MeanV front mount on my Trykon but I think the rubber is too soft. There are better models out there now in my opinion then the MeanV like the Norway or Fuse models. Here is a pic of my Trykon with the MeanV on it.
I use the actual STS brand on my Trykon. I absolutly love it. I wasn't aware MeanV even made a front mount?
I wonder if this would work on my bow. The Sonic XL that is. I have to go look at it now. Would the front mount version work if the cable guide is attached on the backside, directly behind where the stabilizer is? that is the only place i have mounting holes... Edit 2- I just looked at the string tamer for the front mount (senior?). It looks like it should work, in theory...
Besides the bow itself, it is the best investment I made for my Trykon. A completely different bow after I put on a front-mount STS.
Hm.....now where have I heard that before? I KNOW I've heard that somewhere.....I just can't seem to remember where though..... :d
Doc, I thought we both agreed that you were going to take that thing and shove it up the manufacturers keister after you were told to cut the rubber off and glue on a harder piece
Awesome guys, thanks for the info. Definitely goin to the top of my Christmas list. I'm having a little trouble seeing the attachment point. Does it go under your stabilizer and/or wrist sling if you use the front-mount model?
My 79# bow is fairly quiet, would somehting like thismake that big of difference to justify the extra coin. I like the old "If it ain't broke..."
Like I said before... But serioulsly. My Norway String Tamer made a much bigger difference than I could have imagined. Not only with noise but also with hand shock and vibration. I honestly wont ever own another bow without one, unless something even more amazing comes out.
i added a Norway unit to mine today, haven't gotten to shoot it yet... can't wait, will get a few arrows tru it in a couple days...
Anyone ever heard of this one? http://www.lancasterarchery.com/product_info.php?cPath=41_122&products_id=7715&osCsid=ilp9056ckek8brpk67kb45j0q1 Maybe not the double version, I really don't see the point in that one. But has anyone heard of the brand name?
Why do you think the rubber is too soft? What does a softer rubber have over a harder one? I have a Mean V on my Tribute and it actually decreased any noise was there. I am very happy with it.
