I'm at my wits end, so far this year has been absolutely terrible. I just can't seem to get the deer to come into the sites. I tried a Trophy Rock, I have Trace Minerals on the ground, Salt. I just don't get it, I have never had this problem before. Corn works but it also brings in the coons and bear, and it only lasts a day or two. Any Suggestions??

Load your back pack and get out on a DIY Public Land Adventure.

Is it a site you have had success at before or is it a new site for this year?

Location plays a major role in how deer utilize a mineral site. It really needs to be near a water source and in an area the deer feels safe. They will usually spend a considerable amount of time at a mineral site, so if they don't feel safe they just won't use it. If it's a brand new site, give it time. The deer have to find it and realize it's going to be there all the time. It takes time for them to add the site to their patterns.

This is the third year of it being in this spot. I have had my biggest deer ever on camera here, it's just a dry spell this year. 90 pics in a week and a half. That's pathetic! Lol

If that is the case i would consider the possibility that the deer herd is being pressured by something.....ie dogs, people riding in the woods on 4 wheelers, mushroom Hunters, coon Hunters.....you get the idea.....deer are very susceptible to changes in their environment....if they suddenly don't feel safe in an area, they will stop using it for a while
