If I bought a new bow every year, I wouldn't spend the extra $$ on it, either. But, for a bow I planned on keeping for a very long time......I wouldn't (obviously) let $800 stand in the way. You're gonna lose that much, trading "up" in most brands, in short order.
Untill they impress me by shooting one I'll stick with my Hoyts, Pse's and Toelke Chinook Recurve. A person only knows if a bow will fit them, you can't make that decision for others. Too many people now days buy because of brand name and that just shows lack of archery knowledge. I shoot what feels right and fits me.
guys the timing issue has zero to do with bowtechs, lol it has to do with elites 2 track binary system. funny brought up some issues and no one has address them. one of my favorite strotherd moves was claiming a certain brand of string was the best. he used it on his bow to break a speed record. 1 month later he was putiing different strings on his bow, lol
You sure you are not from IOWA...You love strother and that is great, Kevin is a very well established designer. I would love to shoot one of their bows, and hopefully I will get to. It seams that you are bashing all the Bigger names, and I am confused about that...you have an alphamax for sale in the classifieds, and I am pretty sure I have heard of that company before...Hoyt or "one of the big 3" right? Not bashing you, or arguing...just pointing out the irony.
Yes I do have a Hoyt for Sale its for my brother in law he has a kid on the way now and is trying to sell it so I am trying to help him out. I wouldn't own it no where near as quite as strother
That waht I think as well. Probably has something to do with some guys just wanting to shoot what the "cool" guys do
Easy there killers - I saw HCH at the Iowa Deer Classic both Friday and Saturday. I seriously doubt he was sneaking back to his hotel to make posts on here. Plus, he actually knows how to spell and form a proper sentence. As for Strother - I'll pass. After his antics when he "left" Bowtech I pretty much vowed not to use or shoot his products. To me, he just doesn't seem like a very stand up guy. But now that he isn't with Elite anymore, I will happily be shooting one of their bows come October. :D
I like to form my opinions based on my own experiences. There are 2 things I KNOW about Kevin Stother based on my experiences. 1. He is one of the best designers of bows in the business. I like his designs very much and enjoy the way they shoot. 2. Based on what I have seen personally from him in direct responses, I question whether I would want to buy a bow from his company regardless of how well it shoots. With that said, the SR-71 looks to be a great bow. I don't have any dealers near me to find out and don't care to put any effort into finding out.
