Hi guys. I ordered a pair of new scent control boots with 1200 grams thinsulate for the colder months. Problem is, the soles have a VERY strong rubber smell about them. Anyone know of a way to get this smell off of the new soles? I can't imagine a deer wouldn't be spooked by it!

i just tried grinding up about 2 or 3 cups of pine needles in 1/2 cup of hot water and smeared it on the boots, i have it sitting in a tote with a lid on it as we speak, it was definetely a stronger smell than the rubber

My mucks had a similar smell at first. I scrubbed a baking soda/water paste into the rubber, wore them a few times working cattle, and stored them outside. 7 deer in two seasons later I think the boot smell is gone.
