I'd be interested in hearing what some of our fellow LEO's have to say about this. Personally, I would have avoided this situation entirely. My window would have been rolled down all the way and I would have been on my merry way after cooperating.

I know some cops are on a powertrip but no need to bring this sort of thing on yourself to try to prove a point, right?

Interesting video. I have been stopped before and asked can they search my car and I said sure go ahead. They didn't because they said I cooperated. I had nothing to hide so I was not trying to give them a reason to hassle me.

Thats a tough call. We all have to draw a line somewhere and he chose to make his point right there. Can't say that I would have done it but we lose more and more of our freedoms every day.

I'm one of those people the would have had the window down and respectfully answered all questions asked. The officers are only doing their job to ensure the safety of everyone. If your gonna be a pita then I don't blame them for returning the favor.

I have respect for law enforcement, but he is on a major power trip. He (citizen), was absolutely right in everything he said, but most cops don't care. I usually will cooperate with them, but I would never give consent to search either.
    Know your rights!!!!

I dont know man to me its not worth it.....he made the cop think he was up to something by acting foolish....if you know you're fine just roll your window down and be on the way.....did he do anything wrong....maybe not but if its me im gonna roll down my window and act like a normal friendly human being....hes not out of line to want to talk to him without glass in his face especially at a DUI stop (breath)...and last time i checked most do not want drunks on the road either.....little over kill on this and just makes this dude look like an instigating a hole to me

Guy at work had a cop ask him if they could search his car on his way home from work. Second shift and he has been stopped several times for no reason so this time he said no. They brought the k9 and the exact same thing happened. Said the dog alerted after scratching his car up and they even let/made the dog tear his seats up when inside. It found nothing.

This guy has a record and it may very well be they are targeting him but I found it interesting the dog in this video was doing the same as he said the one that searched his car did.

The leo's need to be respected and they have a job to do(very tough one) but it would also be nice if they respected our rights as well.

Thought it was funny when he said in the video the guy knew his rights and the constitution.:what:

IMO....it was the drivers right to do that if he felt like it. I would have not done it myself....but that is typical, cops being pricks. Again...my opinion, but about 80% of the cops I meet are pricks on a power trip. It's kinda sad their like that...but most are that way. I have a good friend who is a cop...the sad part is I have seen him change over the past 8 years...lol. Their heads get too big i guess you could say.

First of all, these videos make cops (myself included) want to absolutely vomit. This is just another pre-law, d-bag with a HO for the men and women who protect his sorry ***, 24/7.

Destined to be criminal defense attorney, no doubt. He probably needs fuel for that fire burning within him; that strong desire to make the big bucks, which mostly comes from defending murderers, thieves, rapists, child molesters, etc.. and this is made possible by hating the other "team". Let's call it "justification".

As I said in the last pre-law, d-bag post -I'd prefer he just answer the questions, say "thank you" (or not) and go about his merry way. But hey, maybe I'm the crazy one.

Also... I don't know which state this was in -but in Ohio, if you're behind the wheel you had better be ready to show your driver's license when asked. Period.

Forgot to ask...are you supposed to tell the officer that he is being recorded?

AND FTR (I know you weren't implying that I don't do this), but I've always shown cops respect when pulled over. It's not only the way I was raised but I'm also trying to get out of a ticket. It hardly ever works though. Not enough cleavage I reckon. :)

Thank you, Rich. In these YouTube cop-bashing videos, viewers tend to forget that we're out there doing what we do to keep everyone else safe.

That was the point. He didn't care if he had been drinking once he pissed him off.

I know you're legit, Finch. :) And it's not illegal in a public setting like that. I've had more cameras in my face than I could ever count. But I've managed to stay off of YouTube, thus far.... which is preached heavily in the academy. Two things cops don't want be: dead or on YouTube.

I respect you opinion, tfox... but when somebody behaves the way that kid did, an investigation immediately begins. Unless of course you'd consider that kid's behavior "reasonable" to the average citizen.

What did he do wrong. I mean he was uncooperative but it didn't seem like he did anything wrong

Cool. Here's another thing I've always wondered. I'm a fan of the show Cops. A suspect can try to evade the officers, run through a jungle, resist arrest, lie to their faces, etc and the cop(s) still show the guy upmost respect and some talk to him like an old friend. Is this just for the cameras? I'd be pissed!

Actually, they'd be a lot nicer than the officer was in the video and that kid did none of that. All for the camera?
