So I've been doing a bunch of blank bale shooting and i usually use my old or junk arrows anyway after aa wife of shooting i noticed some threads coming from my dloop or nocking point. I realized one arrow the nock was too tight and got rid of it. Do you think I'll need to replace the string soon, or not that big of a deal? 20170607_170255.jpg 20170607_170255.jpg

You can re-serve it yourself if you know how...or take it to a shop - should be a quick fix. Your loop is starting to fuzz too - check the knot, and the judicious use of a lighter might be all that needs.

If that's the bow string(which is what it looks like) I'd replace it asap. I wouldn't be shooting it.

How old are your strings? Over a year new ones won't hurt.

If your serving is missing that needs to be fixed.

I would get the serving replaced first then the D loop. If you do your own work I would check out the bowstring before reserving it. It does look like your string has a bit of fuzz above the serving. Can't tell what the rest of the string looks like but new string may be in order. I just ordered some new strings myself just because of age of string. I personally got 4 yrs out of my string but I wax em quite often. It also depends on how much you shoot as well.

I replace my strings 1 or 2 times a year. I shoot about 100 or more arrows a night.. and given the look of those I would replace the entire string and not shoot the bow till that is done.
