Just wondering how many (if any) of you shoot bows equipped with a string stop.. i know bowtech has them on from the factory, but how many of you put them on after you purchased your bow..

i have a mathews legacy with the string dampers by cam and idler, is it a decent investment (35 bucks) to put one on? It looks as though the z7 has the dampers and the string stop.

If it's a good idea, any makers stand out? Mathews's "dead end" wont work for the legacy i guess, cuz i have a 7.5 BH and it says it works with a 7 or less BH

I think it depends on the bow whether a string stop is worth the investment or not. Although I put them on my center pivot bows (Bowtech Commander) and have put them on other cp bows they really only make a small bit of difference as those bows were very quiet to begin with. I put a string stop on my Allegiance and there it make a bit more of a difference. Plenty of deer were killed before string stops came into vogue so I wouldn't really say they help in that regard but, if they make a person feel better about, and more confident with, their shot, then, it is worth it.

I put one on a bow a few years back and didn't think the difference was that great...until I took it off. I've had one on all of my bows since. I'm glad they are becoming standard on bows now because they are worthwhile.

I like them, they've made big enough differences on the bows I shoot to make it worth it to me.

I'll be honest, in the past I was a doubting Thomas but I'll be honest and say I never played with an stop..... I added one to my Allegiance and was shocked at the difference. That said, I'll second what TeeJay said,

Contact MeanV and have him get one of his to you. You won't be sorry on any bow! http://www.meanvarchery.com/index.html

I put one on my bow, Mathews Drenalin, this year after test shooting at my bow shop. Most shops will let you try one on your bow, see if it makes a difference to you. That's the only way to know if it is for you.

I try to keep the weight down on my bows as much as possible so the only bow I have one on is my Z28 because it came with one. Thankfully the critters I'm hunting aren't as susceptible to "jumping" the string as whitetails so I don't need them to quite the shot.

The MeanV String Suppressors weigh on average 2 1/4 ounces including all the rubber. I get good reviews from guys that shoot all brands of bows but in particular the guys that shoot Mathews with the limb tip suppressors.
String suppressors really work! There are several on the market now. Look them over and buy what you like the looks of, then enjoy the benefits!

Don't remember the measurement for the Legacy offhand but there is about 1/4" adjustment to the MeanV, so no worries ;-)

I didn't shoot one until my CR334, and I'm very happy with them. Definitely give MeanV a call or email and try one out.
