I have a pse stinger and it does have the rear tapped whole for a string stop. my question is what exactly do the string stops do? do they quiet the bow? or improve accuracy? or both just wanting to learn something
from my understanding it's all about quieting the bow. Im sure it could improve accuracy a little bit, since it helps absorb some vibration, but i think the over all purpose is silencing. I went from an older PSE White Tail Extreme (Wtihout a string stopper) to a PSE BowMadness XS with one, and I can tell a huge difference in noise.
My understanding is that a string suppressor not only helps to quiet the bow it also helps to reduce string oscillations that affect nock travel. As nock travel improves so does accuracy. The suppressor also prevents the strings loss of speed from slowing the arrow before the nock releases from the string. The fastest position of the string is when it is straight and you want to contact there. Plus of minus a piece of paper will be fine and you will never notice the difference.
The MeanV will reduce noise and vibration. You also have the added benefit of keeping the string off your coat, etc in colder weather. String suppressors are a great addition to any bow and there are many available. Look them over and purchase what you like with confidence you will see and hear the difference. I have several camo patterns available as well as Black Carbon Fiber. The MeanV is made with all parts resistant to corrosion and machined from 7075 Aluminum which is the same light weight as others but twice the tensile strength. Jam nuts are machined from brass and then the completed product is professionally film dipped just like the bows Dan
