I'm looking to quiet down my bow and save arrow speed. Right now I have pse baby g force 70# 30 inch draw and 433 arrow weight two bat wings two monkey tails a peep and a d loop. The online calc gives me 255 fps with an ibo of 312. Would it be advantageous to take off my string silencers and switch to a string stop? Will that dampen sound more than my string silencers? I would also like to add 25 grains to my tip Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The string stop would definitely reduce your noise, but you'll probably want the silencers on there too. Different bows seem to have different results with different products, but I have had great results with the Bowjax string silencers on the string, and Monkey Tails on the cables. You'll also see (hear) a difference when you increase the weight of the arrow as well. Hope this helps, V
I have a string stop and monkey tails. Today I had my bow restrung and for the first time ever I shot it without the monkey tails while I did a test shot. There was a noticible different in noise when I didn't have the tails on. Be cognizant of their position though. I had one on the bottom of the bow string and though I kept hitting my arm with the string...it turned out to be the monkey tail nipping me as it went by.
I think I may try a string stop, and see how it works, Id like to be able to take the monkey tails off but who knows
