Would like to know how often some of you reserve your bowstring. I was tuning my bow the other day and my nock point was a little low, so I had to raise it a bit and noticed the serving looked a bit thin. I usually do most of my own bow work but just asking how often some of you change your serving. Unless it is showing signs of wear I don't do a thing but curious if it is something I should be looking at replacing more often than I do.
I change bow strings about 1 a year, unless needed more.. Such as I just got my new strings in and now waiting for some other items that are coming in shortly. Then I'll put the new strings on, I do 99% of all the work myself as well.
I shoot a lot so right I have been changing about 2 times a year. I change the string out usually about once a season.
Well I think maybe it is time to change the strings as it has been almost 4 yrs. Looking at different brands and looks like I may be ordering some strings from vapor trail as they seem to have the best reviews that I have seen.
You would just want to redo a serving as needed. Most of the time you will wear the string/cable out before you need to reserve it though.
