My neighbor brought over an awesome little Ben Pearson Hunter recurve last night. Some of the prettiest Zebra Wood you'll ever see. He doesn't have a string for the bow, so I looked through my box and found several that were the right length but I'm not sure what the material is. I've always just ordered new strings for these older bows. I'm scared to try some of the new string materials on it. What do you guys think? Is there anyway to look at the string and know that it would be ok for this old bow?
Yeah that what I have heard too VA, the only problem is I can't tell the difference. One of these stings may be B-50. How do you know?
You know, I make my own strings and the only way I keep Fast Flight and Dacron separate is to make them different colors. I make my FF strings (I use fast flight as a general term. I know there are different materials) red and black and Dacron black and yellow or 3 bundle black , yellow and tan. That way I have no mishaps. I guess what I'm saying is if you can't tell the difference don't use any get or make a new one.
