Been shooting my bow a lot, every 100 or so shots, I wax them. Last week i went and shot and I see what looks like tiny little hairs coming out and everytime I shoot about 50, again I start seeing these little hairs on my string. It's the "factory strings" should I be worried??? :violin:

Depends where it is, if its in a weak spot yes. pretty sure you should change your sting every year or 2 I think but I could be wrong.

It's a brand new string, I just got the bow about 1 1/2 ago. I have about a 2-3 inch serving on the center of my string and its on the beneath the end of the serving.

Factory strings are never all that hot.

It sounds like you are keeping up with waxing your string after every couple of practice sessions as well, that's a good thing. I use Bohning Seal Tite on mine (comes in a green tube, not very expensive, silicon based for water resistance. It's good stuff)

When it comes to strings, BCY 452x is the standard, there is a new material in the 8190, and different bow techs and string builders will all tell you different things about the 8190.

I am running Korbin Strings on my bow. They are made by a gentleman here in Texas. His prices are reasonable, he is quick, and you can order any color configuration.

I am about ready for a new set, these have lasted me about 1-1/2 years, and I shoot quite a bit (I know guys that shoot out 2-3 sets a year) I am trying to limp them along and then get new strings right after turkey season.

A few little frays here and there isn't the end of the world. How do your servings look? How many shots do you have on it?

Lets see I may have shot around 500 by now in a month and a half. I do wax the string every time after my practice sessions. Also it's actually just a little fuzz, tiny hairs, but the strings have not broken. This factory string doesn't look like it has creeped either. I'm just boggled by the fuzzy hairs...

It is probably 452x its stable but fuzzes. Even Trophy will fuzz but it takes some time. Waxing and burnishing the wax in after should take care of it.

What kind of wax? The bohning tex-tite works very well to stay on the string.

I would re serve the the string over the fuzzys if your that worried about it. Also IMO you are waxing your string way too much, I use a scrap piece of leather to literaly burn or melt it to the string and don't have any problems. All you need is a light coating, when you wax that much it ends up like a candle.
