I just watched the StrikeForce event and wow... I know people like technical wrestling but that was borderline pathetic. The Shields/Henderson fight was so boring on the ground.... no damage at all on the ground, no real action... but nobody ever gets stood up. Shields was able to get a takedown and just basically sprawl/lay on Henderson for the rest of the round.
There was a need to stand it back up for sure, but I am pretty convinced that Strikeforce wanted Jake to win at any cost. The best action was the brawl in the ring after the fight.
It's pretty sad when you're in full mount and Big John is forced to yell "Work for a finish, Jake!" What's up with the light jabs when you're mounted -- all four rounds? I think my 6-year-old orange belt can hit harder than that -- moving backwards. Someone needs to pull Shields aside and show him how to drop some elbows and put some muscle behind those pitty patty shots. Still trying to figure out what was up with Dan... looked like himself for the first round, then COMPLETELY gassed? Weird.
